As a Veson Nautical Applications Consultant, you will function as the primary technical contact throughout the sales, implementation, and deployment phases of the world’s leading enterprise software solution for maritime chartering. You will provide pre-sales support, deliver product demos, author proposals, provide technical information, and quickly map customer processes to current product capabilities. Your responsibilities will extend throughout the project lifecycle – understanding customer’s needs, gathering requirements, establishing and maintaining project scope and facilitating communications and accountability. As the point person for system development you will provide customized training and ongoing support to end-users, IT, and management to ensure successful system adoption. Software Engineering Manager
Location: Boston, MA USA
As the Veson Nautical Software Engineering Manager, you will manage and mentor a team of software engineers to architect and design enterprise level systems for the commercial maritime community. Specifically, you will design, develop, and code software for Veson’s Integrated Maritime Operations System (IMOS); write product requirement documents; implement and track development timelines; negotiate feature sets with clients, development leads and product managers; and provide consultative and strategic sales support to all clients in Asia. To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience developing software in Java and C++ for maritime shipping industry, including experience with enterprise level maritime software, relational databases, e-commerce infrastructure, data warehousing, and remote office communication (ship to office); consulting with customers during all phases of sales process; and working with Asia-based clients.
