Make informed chartering decisions based on accurate analysis
The Chartering module provides complete pre-fixture and fixture note capabilities that enable chartering staff to analyze options faster, in greater depth, and more accurately. Core analytical tools—including best-of-breed voyage estimation, cargo planning, time charter out estimator, and cargo matching—help chartering departments make better decisions and maximize profits. Companies frequently purchase the Chartering module as a first step to implementing IMOS.

Voyage Estimator
The IMOS Voyage Estimator is the most sophisticated voyage simulation tool on the market—and a true decision-making tool. Renowned for its easy to use, superior analytical capabilities, and graphical views, it automatically estimates revenues, expenses, daily profit/loss, freight rate/TCE, and other calculations. Two views—Column and Details—let you get the level of detail you want. Using the unique Column feature—the most popular feature of IMOS—it’s simple to create multiple “what if” scenarios for easy side-by-side comparison. Combine estimates to create one voyage and hide estimates when viewing. Perform deviation and sensitivity analysis, and get new insights that help you make better decisions.

Cargo Planning
Cargo Planning provides a graphical schedule that displays open cargoes in chronological order by loading port, indicating quantity and a color-coded status. Open cargoes include cargoes or commitments stemming from an agreement, such as a COA. Users can access cargo details with a simple click on the graph. And they can assign a vessel to make a Voyage Estimate or produce a Fixture Note.

Fixture Note
Fixture Note is the central document that stores all voyage-related data and serves as a single source for this information. Fixture Note is created automatically from the Voyage Estimate or Cargo Planning modules. The details provided by these modules are supplemented by other information, such as Charter Party forms, cargo and demurrage terms, port agent nominations, notice to be given, cargo loading/discharge terms, accounting terms, and extra freight terms. Once fixed, a voyage is “frozen to modification” in order to provide a base for comparing the estimate to the actuals during Operations.
Contract of Affreightment (COA)
Get complete COA management—including managing the pricing, terms, and exposure of your COAs—all in an integrated system. IMOS handles both vessel and cargo COAs, serving as a complete, effective contract management solution. Create cargoes from contracts quickly and easily. Link to pricing tables for freights and surcharges.
Cargo Matching (add-on)
This innovative tool matches cargoes to ships with drag-and-drop convenience, generating a pro-forma vessel schedule. It is tightly integrated with the position book. The cargoes can be drawn from a COA contract stored in the database. The system will propose optimal cargo-vessel combinations and also allow the user to drag and drop cargoes to test various scenarios.
