Neste Oil Corporation
Neste Oil Corporation’s (NES1V) Shipping Division transports approximately 40 million tons of crude oil, oil products and chemicals annually utilizing a fleet of tankers, barge / pusher combinations and tugboats. Operations are concentrated on the Baltic, the North Sea and the North Atlantic region.
After a thorough market analysis that included reviewing seven competing solutions, Neste selected Veson’s IMOS. According to Joakim Kärkkäinen, vice president of Neste Oil Corporation’s Shipping, Finance and IT Department, installation went extremely well. “I can confidently say that this implementation was the most successful I’ve ever experienced. Veson’s communication with us was excellent and the training staff is both proficient in technology, and well versed with a deep understanding of shipping operations. This enabled us to get up and running quickly.”
Today Neste has a corporate wide, consolidated and integrated platform that provides access to crucial information easily and quickly. The staff uses the Accruals Summary and the Voyage P/L Summary on a weekly basis. Many of the users rely heavily upon the Voyage Estimation calculation. These functions allow Neste to improve its time efficiency and enhance its productivity.
Kärkkäinen concludes, “Veson responds to all our needs and requirements and reaction time is excellent. If we report a concern during our day, it is solved the next morning – in effect, while we sleep, Veson works!”
