Pool

Companies that operate vessels in a pool need to track operations and easily share voyage results with their partners. Veson Nautical's Pooling module enables managers to allocate vessels to pools with point assignments.

The system generates reports that show the performance of the pool over a specified period of time, taking into account delay and off-hire information, as well as dates of vessel entry and exit from the pool. As the Pooling module can link to Excel, IMOS can facilitate even further analysis of these reports.

Payments to owners are calculated on a monthly or quarterly basis and automatically take into account P&L adjustments of prior periods. The Pooling module and IMOS multi-tiered Security settings also enable organizations to determine how, and with whom, they wish to share information.

Specifically, managers can:

  • Define, manage, and report on the financial and operational performance of commercial pools, including vessel assignments, pool points, etc.
  • Automatically account for changes in vessel ownership, pool points, and vessel days in the pool during any given period, taking into consideration off-hire and invoices from past voyages
  • Calculate pool distributions and earnings results for each vessel owner
  • Generate pool distribution invoices for posting to accounting
"We believe that the IMOS today is by far the most comprehensive and flexible tool for commercial operations. In fact, we have decided to use IMOS for our other commercial management companies because we know it will deliver. Veson's software should be utilized by as many shipping companies as possible."
